Facial Contraindications

Contraindication means "caution" or "limitations".  Please read the following warnings.

The most common concern for skin treatments is chemical peels and allergic reactions.

Please use the following guidelines to ensure you have clear communication with your esthetician. 

Chemical Peel Contraindications:​

These PREVENT chemical peel booking:

  • ​Allergy (List allergies upon booking)

  • Sunburn

  • Open wounds or sores

  • Serious medical conditions (heart/diabetes)

  • Medications (Type 2 Diabetes/Lupus/chemo)

  • Active cold sores

  • Active face rash

These require a WAIT prior to a peel:

  • Accutane (1yr off)

  • Retin-A  (5 days off)

  • Face wax (wait 24hrs)

These require caution:

  • Pregnant or Lactating (hormone reaction)

  • Aspirin Allergy (Salicylic Peel)

  • Rosacea (evaluation)

The initial 72 hours after a chemical peel are the most crucial.

Clients should adhere to the following guidelines for healthy, radiant skin.

POST PEEL CARE:

  • Avoid direct sun 

  • Wear strong SPF & hat if intense sun is imminent.

  • Avoid high heat (exercise, sauna, hot tub)

  • Avoid AHA products for 72hrs or until consecutive treatments are completed.

  • Use hydrating serums and creams. 

  • Increase water intake.

Facial Contraindications:​

These PREVENT a facial booking:

  • ​Allergy (List allergies upon booking)

  • Viruses (common cold)

  • Open wounds, sores, boils, rashes

  • Fungal infection

  • Styes

  • Active cold sores

  • Severe Acne

These may RESTRICT a facial:

  • Minor cuts

  • Recent raised scar tissue

  • Eczema, Dermatitis & Psoriasis

  • Active rosacea acne

Freshly treated skin should be left alone post facial to allow product to do it's job.

Do not pick pimples and avoid makeup for 8hrs if possible.

CANCELATION POLICY         

Cancelations must be made with at least 48hrs advance notice. Anything less than 48hrs notice is considered, "last minute cancelation".

Last minute cancelations or no-shows will incur a Reservation fee. Reservation fees do not pay for the service, but do pay for a portion of the reserved time slot and is non-refundable for last minute cancelations and no-shows.

Please understand the financial loss incurred when estheticians aren't given the chance to fill canceled time slots. Reservation Fees do not recover the full loss to the esthe. We are human so Rebel Studio does use discretion when giving allowances to loyal clients with good track records. If you are a newer client, this option is unavailable. Please immediately mark your calendar with alerts.

LATE ARRIVALS: 

Late arrivals are allowed, however since other clients have reserved time slots after yours, your finish time will not be extended. A client that is 15min late for a 1hr reservation, must still pay the full price even if they use only 45min of their reserved spot. In this case you will only get as much service that is possible in 45min, but still paying full original price.

If you are so late that you choose to cancel last minute or no-show, your Reservation Fee is non-refundable.
